Mostly variations on “really, no upload?”

Are my files really not uploaded?

Really. Complete the required sign-in once, then turn off mobile data and Wi-Fi: every tool still converts locally. The app uses the network for identity, licence and quota checks, configuration and payments; none of those requests carries a document.

Why does it not ask for storage permission?

Because it does not need one. Convertlix uses Android’s own file picker and photo picker, which hand the app a single file you chose. An app that asks to read all files can read all files, and there is no reason a converter should be able to.

Is it slower than a cloud converter?

For anything under a few hundred megabytes it is usually faster, because the file never makes two trips across your connection. A big video is the case where a server with a graphics card would win on raw encode time — and it would still have to receive the file first, which on a phone connection is normally the longer half.

How does the free monthly allowance work?

Sign-in is required. The server sets the allowance shown in the app, and all 24 tools share that one account-wide total for each UTC calendar month. Every successful tool job costs one conversion. A job that fails, times out or that you cancel costs nothing. There is no separate daily or per-tool allowance; Premium is unlimited.

Does Premium work on more than one device?

One at a time. Signing in on a second device tells you which device currently holds your subscription and offers to sign it out — so moving to a new phone takes a tap, and sharing one subscription across a household does not work.

What happens if I reinstall the app?

Sign in again after reinstalling. Your purchase and the current month’s usage come back with the account, so reinstalling or clearing app data does not create a fresh allowance. Once that sign-in succeeds, conversions work offline again.
