Terms of Use

1. Agreement

By installing or using Convertlix (the "app") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The app is provided by Convertlix ("we", "us").

2. Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control. You may not sell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app, and you may not remove or circumvent its licensing checks. You may use the app for commercial work — the files you convert are yours.

3. Your files and your content

We claim no rights whatsoever in the files you convert. They are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us, so we could not use them if we wanted to. You are responsible for having the right to process the files you select.

4. Free tier and Premium

• Sign-in is required before any tool is reachable. There is no guest allowance offered as a product tier.
• A free account receives the server-published allowance displayed in the app. It is one aggregate total for each UTC calendar month, shared by all 24 tools.
• Every successful tool job costs one conversion. A failure, cancellation or timeout costs nothing. There are no per-tool conversion caps, exemptions or separate daily product allowance.
• The monthly allowance is counted against your device and your account on our side, not inside the app. Reinstalling the app, clearing its data or changing your device's date does not restore it.
• Premium conversions are unlimited across all 24 tools and Premium raises the per-file and batch safety ceilings.

These allowances are configurable by us and may change. If we reduce a free allowance, we will say so in the app before it takes effect. Nothing you have already converted is affected by a change.

5. Accounts

An account is required to use the app. You must give an accurate email address, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential, and you must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live (at least 13, and 18 to make a purchase). We may suspend an account that is used to abuse the service — for example, automated mass account creation to farm free allowances. We will tell you if we do, and you can appeal to contact@convertlix.com.

6. Purchases, renewals and refunds

• Our base prices are in US dollars. Where the payment provider supports your billing country, it may show and charge the converted local currency instead. The exact amount and applicable taxes are shown before you confirm payment.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• Refunds: we refund any purchase within 14 days of payment, on request, no reason needed. Write to contact@convertlix.com with the email address you paid from. Statutory rights, including the UK and EU 14-day right of withdrawal, are unaffected and take precedence where they give you more.
• Purchases made through the Google Play Store are additionally governed by Google's terms and refund policy.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use the app to process material you have no right to process, to infringe anyone's rights, or to break the law where you are. You must not attempt to defeat the licensing system, forge entitlement tokens, or interfere with our servers. Reverse engineering is permitted only to the extent your local law says it cannot be prohibited.

8. What conversion can and cannot do — read this one

File conversion is lossy by nature and we will not pretend otherwise:

• PDF to Word, Excel or PowerPoint recovers text and reading order, not layout, fonts, images or tables. A PDF stores glyphs at coordinates; it has no concept of a paragraph or a cell. Any product claiming a perfect conversion is claiming something the format does not support.
• Scanned PDFs have no text layer. The app will say so and point you at OCR rather than hand you an empty file.
• Compression cannot always make a file smaller. When it cannot, the app returns your original bytes and tells you.
• Video re-encoding uses your device's hardware encoder and its capabilities vary by handset.

Always keep your original file until you have checked the result. The app never deletes your input.

9. Availability

The app is designed to work offline and does not require our servers to convert a file. We do not guarantee that our licensing and payment servers will be available without interruption. An outage never reduces an entitlement you already hold.

10. Disclaimer

Except where the law does not permit it, the app is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that a conversion will be free of error or suitable for any particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special losses, nor for lost profits, lost data or lost files. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 1,000.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

12. Third-party software

The app includes open-source components under their own licences, listed in full at Settings → Open source licences. Those licences govern those components.

13. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, and delete your account from within the app or at our deletion page. We may terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms. On termination you keep every file you have already converted — they are on your device.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use the app after that constitutes acceptance. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.
